
Double Subway Stabbings Mark Violent Start to 2025 in NYC
The first day of 2025 saw two separate subway stabbings in Manhattan, sending shockwaves through the city.
Morningside Heights Attack
Around 9:30 a.m., a person waiting on a southbound 1 train platform at the Cathedral Parkway–110th Street station in Morningside Heights was stabbed multiple times in the head, arm, and hip. The victim was transported to St. Luke's Hospital. The suspect, described as wearing a red sweater, black jacket, and black ski mask, fled down Broadway.
14th Street Attack
Just 15 minutes later, a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the back on a northbound 2 train near 14th Street and 7th Avenue. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, his condition unknown. The suspect in this incident was seen wearing a black jacket.
