Diddy's Sex Trafficking Trial Begins in NYC
Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned hip-hop mogul, is facing serious charges in a New York City court. Jury selection for his trial, which includes accusations of sex trafficking and racketeering, began this week. The 17-page indictment details alleged decades-long patterns of abuse against women, including accusations of coerced participation in drug-fueled sexual acts, threats of career sabotage, and physical violence.

The indictment lists severe allegations, including beatings, kidnapping, and arson.
The Defense's Argument: Combs and his lawyers maintain his innocence, stating that any sexual activity was consensual and that no criminal racketeering occurred.
Past Allegations: The trial is not Combs’ first encounter with the law. Past incidents include a 1999 assault charge involving a champagne bottle and chair, an acquittal in a 2001 nightclub shooting case, and a 2015 assault charge that was later dropped. A 2016 incident involving an altercation with his former girlfriend, singer Cassie, is also expected to be discussed. Cassie’s lawsuit alleging years of abuse, including beatings and rape, further complicates the ongoing case.
The trial is anticipated to last at least eight weeks, with the potential for Combs to face decades in prison if convicted.
