De La Soul to Play Pay-What-You-Want Show in NYC: Hip-Hop Legends Hit Lincoln Center

De La Soul Brings Pay-What-You-Want Show to NYC's Lincoln Center

Hip-hop pioneers De La Soul are bringing their unique sound to New York City's Lincoln Center for a special pay-what-you-want show on January 17, 2025.

The show will take place at the Wu Tsai Theater, a venue typically reserved for the New York Philharmonic. This isn't your typical concert experience: the event is part of Lincoln Center's ongoing series aimed at making events more accessible. The suggested ticket price is $35, but attendees can pay whatever they feel is appropriate.

This marks the group's first hometown show in over 16 months, following a September 2023 appearance opening for Nas and the Wu-Tang Clan at the Barclays Center. De La Soul has been busy since then, performing at major festivals like the Newport Folk Festival and Pitchfork Festival.

The show comes on the heels of a momentous year for the group. In 2023, they were finally able to release their entire catalog to streaming services after years of delays and legal disputes. Tragically, founding member Dave "Trugoy the Dove" Jolicoeur passed away in March 2023, but his legacy lives on through the group's music and their ongoing performances.

De La Soul's surviving members, Posdnuos and Maseo, will be joined by fellow hip-hop luminaries Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli at the Lincoln Center show. Don't miss this chance to experience the unique energy of De La Soul in a truly unique setting!
