David Lynch's Mysterious Nightclub Silencio Now Open in NYC: Inside the Red Velvet Oasis

Silencio: A Refuge From the Noise

For over a decade, Silencio, a club conceived by French businessman Arnaud Frisch, has been a haven for the creative elite in Paris and Ibiza. Inspired by the intriguing club of the same name from David Lynch's film Mulholland Drive, Silencio offers a unique blend of entertainment, artistic expression, and escapism.

Silencio Paris

From Paris to Ibiza

The Paris location, designed by David Lynch himself, boasts a dramatic set design that includes a photography gallery, private cinema, library, smoking room, two bars, a darkroom, and a sprawling stage. Since its opening in 2011, Silencio Paris has hosted performances by Lana Del Rey, Prince, Dua Lipa, Pharrell Williams, and Kendrick Lamar.

The Ibiza location, opened in 2020, offers a more bohemian vibe, with natural fibers, Balinese beds, and sand floors. It has become a sanctuary for the island's creative avant-garde, where nature and art intertwine.

Silencio Comes to New York

Now, Silencio has finally arrived in New York City, fulfilling Frisch's American dream. Located on 57th Street and Eighth Avenue, the new club is a bold statement in design and ambiance. The interior, designed by Crosby Studios' founder Harry Nuriev, is a stunning minimalist oasis: an endless red velvet mantle draped from floor to ceiling, bathed in a soft glow of pink neon and gold accents.

Nuriev, known for his collaborations with Balenciaga and Nike, infuses his signature brutalist lines and bold use of color into the design. The club's location in Hell's Kitchen inspired the concept of a basement club hidden behind a noisy street, creating a dramatic contrast between the exterior and the chic interior.

A Star-Studded Agenda

Silencio New York has already hosted a star-studded cultural agenda since its opening in February, featuring events like Nicki Minaj's aftershow, an art exhibition curated by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, and a performance by YG Marley, grandson of Bob Marley.

With Silencio's expansion to New York, the question arises: what's next? Frisch hints at a possible expansion to Asia, leaving the next design collaboration shrouded in mystery.

Silencio: A Fusion of Art, Music, and Escape

Silencio offers a captivating blend of artistic expression, nightlife, and cultural events, attracting a vibrant community of artists, musicians, and creative individuals. Whether it's enjoying a performance on the stage, immersing yourself in a curated art exhibition, or simply escaping the hustle and bustle of city life in the intimate ambiance of the club, Silencio promises a unique and unforgettable experience.
