Cuomo's Unexpected NYC Mayoral Bid Continues
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will remain on the November ballot for the New York City mayoral race, running on an independent line called "Fight and Deliver". This comes after he conceded the Democratic primary to Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani.

He qualified for the independent line in May via an independent nominating petition. The deadline for candidates to withdraw from independent lines was June 27th.
Cuomo's decision follows his concession speech where he acknowledged Mamdani's victory. He also cited the delayed release of ranked-choice voting tabulations (starting July 1st) as a factor in his decision-making process.
Cuomo's mayoral run comes four years after his resignation as governor amidst sexual harassment allegations, which he denies. He has since expressed regret over resigning.
Other candidates confirmed for the November ballot include incumbent Mayor Eric Adams (running as an independent), Republican Curtis Sliwa, and independent Jim Walden.
