"I feel like he’s done so much and there’s such a high price for getting into that game now — especially in his party — that I don’t know why he seems so motivated to serve," Chris Cuomo said on his show Monday.

Speculation about a mayoral race grew after Mayor Eric Adams was indicted by the federal government on bribery charges. The mayor has pleaded not guilty and insisted he won't resign.

Andrew Cuomo's spokesperson, Rich Azzopardi, countered Chris's concerns by stating, "Even you guys know Governor Cuomo has no bigger supporter than Chris." He added that "This is all premature, but politics is ugly and the process can be brutal, but the governor still believes in public service, no matter the personal cost."

While Andrew Cuomo has denied the sexual harassment allegations against him, a coalition of progressive forces in local politics is planning to prevent him from becoming mayor.
