Intrepid Museum Hosts Free Sunset Movie Series Finale with 'Moonfall'

Get ready for a night of lunar adventures! The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is wrapping up its free summer movie series with a screening of the sci-fi disaster film 'Moonfall' on Friday, August 23rd.

The movie will be shown on the flight deck of the decommissioned aircraft carrier, offering a unique viewing experience surrounded by historical aircraft and a NASA space shuttle prototype.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Before the film starts, you can explore the museum's 'Apollo: When We Went to the Moon' exhibition, which showcases artifacts from the space race. This temporary exhibition is in its final weeks, so don't miss your chance to see the towering Saturn V, a lunar meteorite you can touch, and the gloves from the Apollo 11 spacesuit.

The best part? The museum will offer free admission from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., so you can enjoy both the exhibition and the movie.

Tips for a Great Intrepid Movie Night

• Arrive early to secure a good seat on the flight deck.
• Bring a blanket or cushion for comfortable seating.
• Pack a picnic dinner, but leave the alcohol at home.
• Enjoy the sunset views as the movie starts around 8 p.m.
