Midtown Manhattan's Massive Transformation: 10,000 New Homes Planned

A bold plan is underway to dramatically reshape a 42-block area of Midtown Manhattan near Penn Station. The proposal, part of Mayor Eric Adams' "Manhattan Plan," aims to build 10,000 new apartments to combat the city's housing crisis.

The plan draws inspiration from the Financial District's post-9/11 redevelopment, although critics note that this earlier project lacked affordable housing options.
