Key points
  • IKEA Brooklyn is hosting its first Lingonberry Lane Winter Holidays Market Friday–Sunday, Nov. 6–8, in the green park area by the main entrance at 1 Beard St. in Red Hook.
  • Hours are noon–7 p.m. Friday and Sunday and 1–8 p.m. Saturday; admission is free. Local vendors, Swedish food samples, carolers, games and photo ops are planned.
  • IKEA Family members can get free on-site embroidery with a blanket purchase and can reserve a limited holiday mug; amNewYork says a nationwide Lingonberry Lane event day follows at the store on Nov. 28.
  • Weekend ferry riders should exit and follow the waterfront path left to the market, according to the event listing republished by NYC Plugged from IKEA’s store page.

IKEA Brooklyn is turning the lawn beside its Red Hook store into a free outdoor holiday market this weekend. The Lingonberry Lane Winter Holidays Market runs Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6–8, at 1 Beard St., amNewYork reported, with hours of noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Sunday and 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Paul Anderson, IKEA U.S. home furnishing and retail design leader, told amNewYork the market is meant to give families “new and exciting opportunities” to spend time together, alongside flagship Lingonberry Lane markets in New York and Chicago. Shoppers can browse local vendors, sample Swedish foods and drinks, listen to carolers, play family games and pose for photos. IKEA Family members can get free on-site embroidery with the purchase of a blanket, amNewYork said, and can reserve a limited-edition holiday mug through IKEA’s event page.

An event listing carried by NYC Plugged, matching the hours above, places the market in the green park area adjacent to the main entrance — on the right when approaching from Beard Street. Guests arriving on the weekend IKEA ferry are told to exit, follow the waterfront pathway to the left, and continue until the event space appears. IKEA’s own Brooklyn store-events page lists the same Lingonberry Lane market for the Nov. 6–8 window.

amNewYork also flagged a follow-up: on Nov. 28, IKEA Brooklyn joins a nationwide Lingonberry Lane Winter Holidays Event day with cookie decorating, hosting workshops and, for IKEA Family members, a custom picture frame and limited holiday bag charm while supplies last. Reserve details and mug eligibility on IKEA’s events page.
