The Winter Lantern Festival returns to Snug Harbor on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., kicking off the Staten Island cultural park's 50th anniversary season. Hundreds of handcrafted Chinese lanterns lit with LEDs line the outdoor route, and the ticket includes an acrobatic show with performers from China, including face-changing. Food and drink vendors are on site. After opening night the festival runs Thursdays through Sundays, 5 to 10 p.m., through Jan. 10, 2027, rain or shine. Tickets start at $18; last entry is 9 p.m. Enter at Cottage Row and Chapel Road.
