About this event

The 57th Schenectady County Holiday Parade, billed as the Northeast's largest nighttime holiday parade, steps off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at State Street and Washington Avenue near SUNY Schenectady. More than a hundred floats, glittering fire trucks, marching bands, dance troupes and Santa Claus head down State Street past the main viewing area at Proctors, 432 State Street. Before the parade, the city lights its holiday tree at State and Jay Streets at 4:45 p.m., and a free pre-parade party with live music and kids' crafts runs from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Watching is free.
