Hania Rani presents Non-Fiction at Lincoln Center
About this event
Polish composer and pianist Hania Rani makes her David Geffen Hall debut with Non-Fiction: Piano Concerto in Four Movements, a work partly inspired by Josima Feldschuh, a young music prodigy forced into the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II, whose story Rani views through present-day Ukraine and Gaza. She plays with the 45-piece Sinfonia Varsovia, drummer Valentina Magaletti and saxophonist Jack Wyllie. The night, part of Unsound New York, opens with cult Polish band Księżyc marking 30 years of its 1996 debut album. Runtime is about 1 hour 45 minutes. Tickets are Choose-What-You-Pay; for sold-out shows a day-of line forms at the box office.
