Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2024: A Guide to the 98th Annual Show
Get ready for the 98th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan on Thursday, November 28th, starting at 8:30 a.m.!
This year's parade promises to be spectacular, lasting approximately three-and-a-half hours and covering a 2.5-mile route through the heart of NYC. Expect 22 balloons, 33 floats, 7 balloonicles, 11 marching bands, 28 clown crews, and four performance groups!

How to Watch
In Person:
- Arrive very early (by 6 a.m.) to secure a good spot along 6th Avenue or Central Park West.
- Avoid restricted areas at the start, finish, and broadcast zones (West 77th Street & Central Park West; Columbus Circle; West 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue).
- Best viewing spots: West 59th to West 38th Streets along 6th Avenue, or the west side of Central Park (West 75th to West 61st Streets – arrive by 6 a.m.).
The Route: The parade starts at West 77th Street and Central Park West, travels down Central Park West to Columbus Circle, then heads east on Central Park South, south on 6th Avenue, and ends at Macy’s Herald Square on 7th Avenue.
On TV: Tune in at 8:30 a.m. The telecast will end around 12 p.m., with an encore airing at 2 p.m.
Schedule Highlights

- 8:30 a.m.: Parade and telecast begin.
- Just before the parade ends: Radio City Rockettes performance followed by Santa Claus!
- 12 p.m.: Telecast ends.
