A man died Saturday night in a fire at an apartment building on Park Hill Avenue in the Park Hill section of Staten Island, officials said.

The fire was reported around 8:08 p.m. on the second floor of a six-story residential building on Park Hill Avenue, between Sobel Court and Roff Street, CBS New York reported, citing the FDNY.

A man was found unresponsive on the second floor and pronounced dead at the scene, a police source told ABC7. Another person was injured and evaluated at the scene; that person's condition was not immediately known, according to CBS New York.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in under two hours, ABC7 reported. The man's identity had not been released as of early Sunday, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
