A corner near Lincoln Center is getting a big new Italian restaurant. La Pecora Bianca will open its second Upper West Side location, La Pecora Bianca Lincoln Square, on Monday, Oct. 19, at 61 Columbus Ave. at West 62nd Street, founder and CEO Mark Barak confirmed to West Side Rag and I Love the Upper West Side.
The restaurant takes over the former Rosa Mexicano space. West Side Rag reported it will be the group's largest location, with 8,000 square feet of indoor space over two floors and seats for more than 250 guests, and outdoor seating to follow in the spring. The group describes the look as "easy Amalfi vibes," according to an Instagram post cited by the Rag.
What's on the menu
Regulars will find familiar dishes, including rigatoni vodka, whipped ricotta toast and chicken parmesan, West Side Rag reported. The Lincoln Square location also adds dishes you won't find at the other locations: mafaldine with roasted butternut squash, brown butter and crispy sage; trecce with braised short rib ragù and parmesan; local burrata with stone fruit agrodolce; and an autumn pizza topped with delicata squash, speck, ricotta, fontina and sage.
La Pecora Bianca's menus are built around pasta made in-house every day, with gluten-free pasta available on request, I Love the Upper West Side reported. The bar leans on Italian aperitivo culture, with spritzes, negronis and the group's own organic rosé. "With Lincoln Square, we wanted to build on everything people love about La Pecora Bianca while creating an experience that feels entirely new," Barak said in a press release quoted by the Rag.
