What we publish
- Events open to the public in the five boroughs — block parties, markets, shows, festivals, sports, classes, community meetings.
- Free and paid events alike. Paid listings need a clear price and a working ticket link.
- A specific title, an exact date and start time, and a real address or cross streets.
- A description written for neighbors: what happens, who it's for, anything to bring or know.
What we don't publish
- Private or invite-only gatherings, and recurring promos with no specific date.
- Ads for businesses or products, fundraising without an event, or political campaign rallies.
- Listings in all caps, packed with emoji, or copied from another site without permission.
- Anything that breaks our community guidelines or the law.
When we ask for changes
If a listing is almost there, we mark it changes requested and tell you exactly what to fix. Open the link in the email (or the notification), update the listing and resubmit — it goes straight back into the review queue.
- The date, time or address is missing, unclear or doesn't match the ticket page.
- The title is vague ("Fun Saturday!") or the description is too thin to decide whether to go.
- The photo is low quality, has text baked in, or isn't yours to use.
- The price is missing for a paid event, or the link goes somewhere unrelated.
Approved listings are locked. If something changes after approval — a new time, a rain date, a cancellation — reply to your approval email and we'll update it.
