Staten Island Amazon Workers Join Historic Nationwide Strike
Amazon warehouse workers on Staten Island joined a nationwide strike, escalating the conflict between the retail giant and the Teamsters union. The strike, now in its second day, involves thousands of workers across the US demanding fair treatment, including higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions.

The union asserts that the movement is growing and "will not be stopped." Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien emphasized the courage required to confront big corporations. He criticized Amazon executives for using "lies, threats and intimidation."
Amazon denies the Teamsters represent a significant portion of its workforce, stating the union is "intentionally misleading the public" and engaging in illegal activities. The company also claims the strike will not impact its operations.

The dispute continues, with both sides presenting contrasting narratives.
