San Francisco's Gigantic New Skyscraper: 1,225 Feet of Ambition
San Francisco is getting a serious upgrade to its skyline. A proposed skyscraper, clocking in at a towering 1,225 feet, is set to become the tallest building in the US outside of New York City and Chicago. This ambitious project will surpass existing giants in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

This isn't just about height; it's about reclaiming a title. The new building will become the tallest building west of the Mississippi, surpassing the Wilshire Grand Center in Los Angeles (1,100 feet) and relegating the Salesforce Tower to third place.

The project, spearheaded by Hines (co-developer of Salesforce Tower), will be a mixed-use development encompassing residential, office, and retail spaces. The plan also includes restoring original historical buildings in the area.
National Ranking
Nationally, this future skyscraper will place 11th, sandwiched between the Empire State Building (1,250 feet) and the Bank of America Tower (1,200 feet), both in NYC. It will still fall considerably short of One World Trade Center's 1,776 feet.

While currently the top 20 tallest buildings in North America are in the US, a building under construction in Monterrey, Mexico (Torre Rise) could potentially surpass the proposed San Francisco tower in height.
