NYC Braces for Winter Storm: Snow, Ice, and Freezing Temperatures
New York City is facing a major winter storm bringing snow, freezing temperatures, and treacherous travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for several counties, and First Alert Weather Days have been declared for Friday and Saturday.

Light snow will continue overnight, with an additional coating to two inches possible. The heaviest snowfall is expected south and west of the city. Low temperatures in the 20s will likely lead to ice formation on roads and sidewalks.
Saturday:
Snow will clear early Saturday morning, followed by a frigid blast of arctic air. Highs will be in the low 30s, dropping to the mid 20s by afternoon, with dangerous wind chills in the teens and single digits due to winds of 20-30 mph.

Sunday and Beyond:
Sunday will be even colder, with highs struggling to reach the 20s and lows in the teens and single digits. Some areas could see sub-zero temperatures. This could be the coldest temperature since February 2023.
