Tri-State Hit with More Storms After Devastating Floods
The tri-state area is facing another round of storms, just one day after heavy rain triggered widespread flooding. While this round won't be as severe as Sunday's deluge, it's still enough to cause concern, especially in areas already saturated from the previous downpour.
Flash flood warnings have been issued for Suffolk County on Long Island and a severe thunderstorm warning for Fairfield County, Connecticut – two areas hit particularly hard on Sunday. These storms could bring an additional 1-2 inches of rain, potentially leading to more flooding, especially in areas like Fairfield County, Central and Northeastern New Jersey, and Long Island.
Flooding and Wind Threats
The storms could also produce damaging wind gusts up to 60mph, posing a risk of downed trees, power lines, and flying debris.
A Glimpse of Fall
After the storms clear, the tri-state can expect cooler temperatures and lower humidity, offering a welcome taste of fall. Expect pleasant weather for the rest of the week.
