(January 26, 2025) A significant fire broke out late Saturday night in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, resulting in injuries and displacement for numerous residents. The blaze, which originated on Graham Avenue near the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Devoe Street, quickly engulfed three buildings.

The fire, which was captured on video showing intense flames shooting from a three-story building, required the response of nearly 200 FDNY members. The building housed a pharmacy on the ground floor and apartments above. The fire spread to the cockloft and two adjacent buildings. The fire was brought under control around 1:30 AM. Fortunately, the relatively mild overnight weather prevented frozen hydrants from further complicating firefighting efforts.
Casualties and Displacement
At least four people suffered injuries, including three firefighters who sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized. Another individual was treated at the scene. The incident left ten families without homes, and the Red Cross is providing assistance to those displaced.
